Spokane County Republican Central Committee Board Chairwoman Cecily Wright is now apologizing for inviting James Allsup to speak at a Northwest Grassroots meeting earlier this month, as social justice groups from across the county are calling her out for giving James Allsup a platform to speak.

Protestors target GOP backlash to Russia probe at Devin Nunes fundraiser for Cathy McMorris Rodgers

The Spokesman-Review asked that a reporter be allowed to attend and report on the the fundraising lunch, which cost $250 a plate or $500 to meet with Nunes. McMorris Rodgers declined the newspaper’s request. More than 100 protesters gathered outside, many of them holding signs alleging a link between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Others criticized McMorris Rodgers for her ties to Trump that – while strained on issues involving trade – have been largely conciliatory regarding the president’s policy positions.

A group of roughly 100 protesters gathered outside The Spokane Club Monday afternoon, alleging ties between President Donald Trump and Russia. The protestors, many of which were holding signs, were critical of U.S. Rep. Devin Nunes, who was visiting with Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers.

Accusers and progressives run new ads against democratic lawmaker David Sawyer

Several of the state's most prominent progressive groups, including Planned Parenthood, Fuse, and SEIU 775 have called on Sawyer not to seek reelection. Seventeen regional lawmakers made a similar call. Now, the South Sound Women’s Leadership PAC has launched a website—sawyerfacts.com—and spent about $71,000 on the site, digital ads, and mailers against Sawyer.

McMorris Rodgers invites California Rep. Devin Nunes to Spokane Fundraiser

Republican Chair of the House Intelligence Committee Devin Nunes will be attending a fundraiser of Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers on Monday, her office confirmed. The lunch is being held at the Spokane Club at noon. There has been some outrage online about the congresswoman inviting the representative to Spokane. Fuse Washington, the state’s largest progressive organization, issued a statement Tuesday criticizing the congresswoman for having Nunes be her guest.
